BoneBONE

Bone is perhaps the earliest natural material used to make buttons. We sell plain and dyed 2-hole and 4-hole buttons from the 19th century at a cost of about 25p per button. They have a wide variety of uses - on Victorian clothing, pillowcases, and for use by re-enactment societies.

Corozo Nut

COROZO

Corozo nut [or vegetable ivory] buttons were abundant in the latter part of the 19thC. and early 20thC. Although of limited intrinsic interest to collectors, we do stock tailors' buttons and the finely impressed designs of 19thC. corozo buttons. Designs include floral and geometric patterns, all made to a high standard. These buttons can make the beginnings of an inexpensive and intriguing collection at about 50 pence per button.
