© "GOLDEN AGE BUTTONS":   YACHT & BOAT CLUBS

The lists are now updated on a day-to-day basis - not just at the end of each month.

A reference work on British yacht and rowing club buttons is now available.  Details are:
“Yacht and Rowing Club Buttons of the British Isles” by Roger Revell
This is the first detailed research into buttons used by yacht and rowing clubs in the British Isles,
covering the period between 1750 and 1950.  Over two hundred buttons are described and
illustrated – including many from the nineteenth century.  The book provides concise information
on the histories of nearly a hundred and eighty clubs.  The study also has useful appendices
for the general reader on identifying buttons – with an explanation of styles of lettering, and
the use of crowns and abbreviations.  Descriptions in the main text give helpful information
on backmarks and values of buttons, in addition to some of the main variations in designs.
Photographs are included of the author’s own collection of buttons - assembled over a span of
some fifteen years.

The book has a hundred pages and is extensively illustrated in full colour.  Copies of the book
[ISBN 978-1-4452-2559-3] are priced at £29.99 and may be obtained using the website of Lulu
Publishing [www.lulu.com] or by using the following link:
